Right in the middle of wine 🍷 country in Augusta, Missouri sits a beautiful state park called Klondike Park. I stumbled across this park this spring and love to go back when the trees are in full bloom. My trips involve hiking 🥾 although the park has much more to offer.

Trails 🥾
There are plenty of trails to hike on with varying surfaces. The multi use surface is of natural terrain and is used by equestrian by day along with hikers and cyclists. There is a natural surface with a natural terrain and paved trails. My favorite is the Lake Loop trail that circles the lake with white sand and boulders.

While walking around the Loop trail, they have Paddle Share Rentals where you can rent kayaks for the lake. They range between $10-$15/ hour for either 1-2 person kayaks. They are reserved online.
Camping 🏕
For the campers, there are 6 cabins that you can rent for $65/night each. There is however no heating, air conditioning, or bathrooms so you would definitely get that camping feeling. There is a nearby shower and camping kitchen that is open from April 1- October 31. For those that want a more rustic feel, there is tent camping for $10/night. There are 43 campsites that are open for individual or groups.
Fishing 🎣 and Boating 🛶
There are two types of fishing at the park, harvestable and catch and release. The lake is stocked with bluegill, bass, and catfish. There is a separate entrance with a boat ramp for boating on the Missouri River. There are also playgrounds and picnic shelters that can be utilized for picnic or get-togethers.
Weddings 👰🏻
What else can you do at the park?? Get married!! There is a meeting facility that you can rent for your wedding, $400 for the weekends and $250 for weekdays. Or you can be married by the lake and have the reception there or off-site. Photographers also utilize the lake are for engagement shots.
So if you are ever passing through the St. Charles area on your way to Augusta or live nearby, check out the park. After the park, you can always head into the town of Augusta to check out all the wineries!! It’s a win-win!!
