Whether you celebrate on Valentine’s Day or you pick another day to celebrate your relationship, here are some ideas that are just for couples. A couple of them I have been to and the others are definitely on my bucket list!

  • Savannah, Georgia
  • Aspen, Colorado
  • Sedona, Arizona
  • Sante Fe, New Mexico

Savannah, Georgia

We visited Savannah, Georgia in December between Christmas and New Years while the houses and the downtown square were still decorated for the holidays. It was like walking in a town in a Hallmark movie. The weather was great to walk around in the town.

Savannah, Georgia is known for it’s architecture through the town and through the public squares. There are huge moss draped trees on each side of the street that touch in the middle that shield you from the sun. A great place to go look around in the historic district is Forsyth Park. The entrance to the park is breathtaking and we were surprised to see the filming spot from Forrest Gump. It was the scene where Forrest Gump was waiting for the bus. The actual bench which was a movie prop is in the Savannah Historic Museum.

A must see visit in Savannah, Georgia is the American Prohibition Museum. Whether you are a drinker or not, it is a fascinating place with a live speakeasy to enjoy a few drinks.

If a snowy getaway is what you are looking for, then Aspen, Colorado is your place. For one of our wedding anniversaries, we went to Santa Fe, New Mexico as my favorite region is the Southwest. Santa Fe is the oldest state capital in the United States with a high elevation of 7,200 feet. The town is famous for pueblo-style adobe architecture. There is a vibrant arts scene and while we were there, we tried our hand at glass blowing making paper weights. Other activities are below.
